The leaving's a b***h!
« on: June 20, 2003, 10:23:19 pm »
sorry JUDE, as far as the high stress part goes part goes its not all that stressfull, sitting the final interview is stressfull in its own right but if you get that far you already got a spot you just have to reasure the board that they made a good choice plus the 2 senior officers on the board are the ones who will in charge of training so there also looking to see if you will be a easy person to work with, the thinking is would i like to spend 6 hour in a cockpit with this guy, so i guess what im saying is 'just be confident'.

Last I heard it was pass or fail. But saying that the demand for apprenticeships in the corps isnt what it used to be, so you might be ok. The time for the run for entry isnt that bad, its less for serving members. Are you that unfit???

that was good advice AF07!
I enjoyed the whole experience, glad it's over now, can relax.
The phsycomotor tests were the most difficult part for me, that damn circle!!
Anyway its done now so theres no point dwelling on it.
Thanks for all the advice,i'll keep you's posted as to whether I succeed or not!

11 minutes 30 second for a 1.5 mile run with no leway on the time, important ponit all you got to do is pass the tests and make it to the interview, its there where the choice is made as to weather you air corps material or not.
good luck and be as honest as you can in the interview.

More questions AF 07!
I got my letter today for the final interview stage,I was surprised to find that its not in the Don at all!
It said on the letter "final interview/aptitude tests",I thought I was finished with bloody tests for a while! Can you advise me about these aptitude tests,or is it more of the same?
Its not easy this!!

Thanks in advance.

The run should be no bother, they're picky bastards on the press ups though.
With the run just try and keep close to the third person or be them it's a good way to balance between going fast enough and not going faster than your body can sustain.

dont know what to say bud, they must have changed the selection process since i did it, mine was in baldo, the run situps pressups and if you passed those of you went to the interview. mabe there calling the fitness test aptitude tests now. tell me where its at and that might ring a bell.
did you go for sit down interviews with park aviation yet, if not thats what it is, basically a phycalogical (think thats how you spell it) interview and a interview with a retired aer lingus pilot and a human resourses person from park plus hand eye corridnation tests.
if it is with park let me know and i'll tell you more
