Airshow 100 Punchestown 6-7th june 2010
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:58:14 pm »
Hi All

Let’s hope they apply for the license nice and early to avoid another MACH 1 Issue   :banghead:
The webpage looks promising but the short display time suggests that it will be a limited display
Casement would be the ideal take off point so military jets could easily arrive & depart quickly

Here’s the starting line up so far

•Breitling Wing Walkers
•The Yakolevs
•Team Viper
•The Irish Air Corps
•Eddie Goggins Aerobatics

 Here’s the link:  http://www.airshow.ie/content.aspx?id=203

It begs the question why Baldonnel couldn't have hosted this show celebrating Irish Aviation's 100 Anniversary

The PC 7 team performed at the 75th anniverary of the IAC back in 97' I wasn't that impressed by them.  Hosting airshows in Casement has become a taboo subject since 2000.  Would love to see some classic aircraft at this ie Hurricane, Lysander etc.  After all it is a celebration of 100 years of aviation in Ireland.....

What about the Spitfire in the IAC colours  :ireland:
and the DH Rapide two very important additions to celebrate this historic anniversary
Last year at Portrush wasn't there a UH-1Huey too if this is to celebrate Irish Aviation's 100 shouldn't this include the whole of Ireland

Joey1,
Spitfire Tr9 PV202 ex IAC 161 is no longer in Air Corps colours, it now sports a Royal Netherlands Air Force scheme.
The DH84 Dragon Iolar was damaged in the hangar at Dublin Airport hopefully it will be repaired some time.

The twister duo's routine looks really technical... would be interesting to see how it turns out in the sky.

Hi all

In a very bold statement the website Quotes "there's never been an air display with a lineup like this "Un Quote
Mmmm... I beg to differ
what about The Galway Airshow and Air spectacular 2000 and if you take Northern Ireland there's Portrush

All the above had cracking displays Thunderbirds / The  Rad Arrows / Rockwell B1 lancer/  and who could forget The Luftwaffer Tornados god i miss the Tonado display :buttrock:

I remember at Galway When the 2 Tornados arrived one refuelling the other Brilliant
and our very own IAC :ireland:

I could go on but i risk being boring

No dutch f-16 for airshow 100 according to f-16 display site, dates released today and according to some forums the show is in doubt as a licence hasnt been granted yet due to objection from local stud farms. :-\
