I know James Perkins is heavily involved in trying to reintroduce them but as for who's designing them or when they'll be introduced is another thing! The No 1 Ops wing Was a Good Flash!!

The 3 Wing Flash Is Crap anyway!! and should be replaced asap!!

Hey Bailer, how did you get a link to B Coy. 7th Inf. Batt. on your site? That was my old FCA unit before I went into the 'Don. Summer camp in the Glen of Imaal, ahh those were the days!

Irish Marine,

I won't be adding any photo's to the site as I don't have many but I will be submitting some Vintage Aircorps Photo's to this Site When I get them Scanned Unfortunately as Frank has seen they're over 20 years old and the Quality is poor

Thats actually my own unit been there 7 years! Working on updating that site now for septembers recruiting Campaign.

When were you in?? Sure you remember some of the old Crew!!

Down to the Glen this saturday havn't been there since 2001. with a bunch of recruits,  Ah yes another batch of Innocents to introduce to The Glen, The Blackened Kitchens and Old Wooden Billets are Gone, But the Stench of SheepShit and That long March up the hill to the armoury is still there!

Happy days of lugging an FN about in the Carpark beside the cookhouse in the Belting heat, or sitting out the Back of the Billet having that long awaited smoke  '<img'>

Hi Bailer,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've been up the walls.

First things first, that's a great site you have, the images are spot on.

As using for the avatars on this message board, that would be brilliant, thanks for the offer.

I've got one of your pictures online at the minute and I hope to add the second one shortly, to see it just go to the gallery section of the website and click on the database link, use the pulldown menu, select Alouette and away you go.

Regards,

Frank.

Bailer,
If you get on to one of the AC bods on the board they might be able to get you pictures of the Cadet class badges, as far as I know every class makes up their own design.

hey Bailer! We had .303's! I was in B Coy. in '75-76, I went into Baldonnel as an apprentice in Sept. '76. Do you know Jimmy Kelly? we were at school together, went to the FCA together, went with women together, I split up with mine and we drifted apart after that. He went into the regulars but I think he still has ties with B Coy. On our summer camp in '76 we opened boxes with brand new Bren guns in them! Make sure you run the new boys up Keadene mountain! Currahee is a probably next hardest! (Well it is in my mind!) Ah yes night exes on Cemetry hill! And it was the warmest summer on record!

Hi Bailer / Ishmi,

If you're looking to see what cadet class badges look like you'll find some on the Uniforms & Insignia pages of the Air Corps section of IrishAirPics.com, but you'll find an even bigger collection of badges here:

John K,

Oh they ran up Kaedeen Alright on Wednesday!! only 7 of them made the top though!

I remember Jimmy Alright was training NCO (Cadre) with B Coy  until 98, He had an "Interesting" career in the DF but was a driver for us at the end. You Remember Mick Keogh aswell?? he Stood Down as BSM on Thursday and passed over to Tommy O'Kelly our current CS so four of the 8 BSM's in the 7Bn Came from B-Coy. I'm sure there's a few more you remember, but its a different force now from your days.

The Glen Hasn't changed much was 30 degrees when we were on the side if Keadeen!!

Every cadet/young officers course makes up its own class badge and most leave them on their flying suits even after their wings ceremony. Maybe FF will be able to contact his alleged friends for a loan so they can be scanned. He might even lend you his. '<img'>

Thanks for that, Bailer. I met Mick Keogh in Maynooth a few years back, he was in the Paddies day parade. My old mates Da' was in the O.N.E. part and we went for a beer afterwards when I saw some FCA lads with 7th Batt. flashes on their arms. He looked the same from 25 odd years back! Tommy O' Kelly was a real influence on me! He was our Sgt. back then and really someone you'd want with you in any situation. If you see Jimmy, can you say hello from me? I'm sorry we lost touch. He 'phoned me in London about 20 years ago but I was going off with a girl and I think he got the impression that I was avoiding him!

Yeah,

I've already been on about them and will be adding more Squadrons and Possibly the Wing Badges (even if they are the new ones) I believe they're trying to standardise the Badges for the wings. and on the Re-org Squadrons will be getting new Badges on Redesignation (such as 101 and 104 sqns)

Frank the Photo's look great well done on the cleanup job!!
I actually have 7 I'll send you the rest this weekend. one is long Distance. (really long distance) and the A111 is miles away. I especially like the one you already have of it just about to touch down.

I'll also do the avatars for you this weekend,

Brgds,

Bailer.
