Spitfire PV202 Ex Air Corps in new colour scheme
« on: May 15, 2010, 06:56:26 pm »
The Spitfire MkIX Trainer PV202 ex Air Corps 161 now at Duxford has been repainted in yet another colour scheme.  This time in 19 Sqn. RAF Battle of Britain colours. Looks well but not as well as in the Green overall finish.

May get to see her at Riat as part of the Battle of Britain celebration

It's a pity we don't get to view her here in any Irish Airshows given the fact that she was once flown by the IAC

Joey1,
PV202/161 was in Ireland a few years ago both North and South in the sort of Irish colours. Spitfire ML407/162 the Grace Spitfire would love to come back again to Ireland. I spoke to Caroline Grace on one of my visits to Duxford and that is what she said, all we need to do is to get someone to sponsor the visit. Incidentally Caroline is one nice Lady and very friendly. ML407/162 did take part in one of the spectaculars at Baldonnel when the late Nick Grace took it to Baldonnel. Maybe you were only a Young fella then.
