The Pilatus PC-9 demonstrator was at Baldonnel this week - were Air Corps pilots getting familiarisation training?

Interesting question Snapper.

Where is our Air Corps friend, P.Doff, these days ?
He was the best source of info from Baldonnel.

I saw (and heard) the PC-9 in action. Very slick machine !

Roll on May 04', when we will have eight of them lined up in Baldonnel !

Doff -  Could your trouble registering been a result of using the same PC in the Don? As I would have been registered on it before hand! Perhaps if you had orginally used a different PC you may not have run into the difficulties reported.
Your friend,

There are actual pics of the demonstrator PC-9 at the Don lined up beside a marchetti on the irishmilitaryonline site board,
she looks small in comparison to the black beauty,no disrespect to the warriors btw!
Roll on May'04,damn right!!

Good news about the flight sim mentioned in the News Section for the PC9s. Anyone know if it is the same type as that shown on the Pilatus ads on the back of An Cosantoir?

Two other questions:
1. Has the paint job been decided on yet?

2. Has anyone got any idea if an additional 4 aircraft will be bought in the future, to bring the number up to a full 12 aircraft squadron?

It would make sense to at least take out a purchase option on a further 4 aircraft - then if we needed additional PC-9's in the next few years, we would get them at 2003 prices !

Although, come to think of it, "sense" and "government" aren't compatable in Ireland !!

Sorry for the delay in gettin back to yis lads, but I was blocked from using this board for some reason until now??
Yip, the pc-9 is some A/C alright!! Did any of you see it flying in formation with the two marchetti's??
It gave an impressive display last Wed's evening at 17.20!!
Doing everytin from tailslides to ultra lowlevel top speed passes! That thing would have no probs turnin inside an f-18 and Im sure could get a kill if the pilot could drag the hornet into a relativly slow ,tight turnin fight!!!  ???
Any of ye see the two Luftwaffe Tornadoes that were in the don on the 25-28 of April ?? They were here on the piss for the w/end! What a life EH
Glad to be back , talk te yis soon. :)
