Guys,
Have a look at the discussion in this forum -

http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/
Forum - MODERN MILITARY AVIATION
(Then go to the 'Search' facility and key in "Irish Air Corps".)

Topic of discussion "Ur opinion on the World's most usless airforce"

The one (Irish?) person who does post actual information about the Corps gets his facts wrong !

if i haven't already said it this is a great idea and if i was living at home i would persue it to its fullist.
how about we get a petition going on the website, all who visit could sign it, if we get enough signatures the pudknokers in the goverment might actually pay attention to us.

Hey Guys, does anybody know whether the Air Corps have a mission statement? Does it have a particular reason for it's existence? (apart from being a flying club for the landed gentry!) Maybe that's an avenue that could be tried? Letters to the newspapers etc. will get it into Joe Publics' notice especially in view of the existing terrorist threats. Good luck with the campaign!

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry to say that I just don't have the time to be getting involved with politics / petitions / etc.  IrishAirPics.com as it stands eats up an awful lot of my time.

If anyone else want's to start a petition by all means do, I will give you whatever assistance and publicity I can.

Regards,

Frank.

How can the Irish Air Corps be the most useless Air Force in the world when it's not an air force, it's a Corps?! '<img'>

BTW, the IAC mission statement is outlined in the White Paper and developed more in the last annual DF report.  As far as I know it's available on Defence.ie. ':<img:'>

Hi Guys,

Here's a direct link to the World's most useless air force thread on the AFM website.

I might also add that it is not only about the Air Corps, the Air Corps was nominated by the person who opened the first thread, a lot of other Air Forces come in for flak as well.

And as for my 2 cents on the matter, I think Air Corps do a brilliant job with what they have have been given.  The Air Corps don't control the finances, the Goverment does, and until the Government coughs up more money for more equipment the Air Corps will unfortunately have to make do.

I think the PC-9M's are a great start for a re-equipment program, lets hope the Government capitalise on this new start and get jets with at least some offensive / defensive capability, not to mention some proper military medium lift helicopters.

Regards,

Frank.
