yes a terrible day , terrorist action against civilian is not the best way for peaceful solution

I was wondering if any of you know if the Aircorps was put on alert on May 17th in 1974, or if its members had to do security around Dublin.  Its certainly a sad day in the history of Ireland.  I wish more people this side of the pond knew more about this terrible day.
