Hey Claudel, can you get Corro to say hello! I sent him a couple of e-mails but got no reply (you don't think he's telling me something do you?) But tell him Ray the refugee wants to organise something this year, around September time, my address should be accessable through this site. Are you two still in? Still on Marchettis? Jeez! They're 25 years old now! I'm involved with the Air Cadets over here and we get to go flying in the Grob Tutor, it's very similar to the SF260, not as powerful though! Best wishes, guys. JK

The Tucano is a completely different plane to the PC-9. Same type of powerplant but I think that's as close as it gets. Its more expensive than the PC9 and the Tucano is licence built in Belfast by Shorts. The RAF are reported to have had loads of teething problems with theirs. The PC9 and the Raytheon Beech Texan TII are more or less the same plane except the US modified a PC9 into the Texan which made quite an impression here two years ago. A lot more expensive than the PC9.

Ye could be right JK number 68 does ring a bell now as does the number 69 ah but who's countin'.I think the 51 went to the DIKE.Ah those journeys back on Wednesday nights the bumpy road from Clondalkin was always enough to turn young apprentices (full of drink and mixed grills) green, manys the spew was left on the seats on that stretch of road, own up now any culprits.  ':p'  ':p'

OK JK I'll pass the message on. Yeah we're still here waiting for the freebie to Switzerland in January or February. How is Jaffa this weather? I haven't clapped eyes on him and the missus for some time now. I think it was Gerry Tynan's wedding! Does he still live out in Castleknock?

Thanks for that, Claudel. Since getting involved with the Air Training Corps over here I've brought quite a few cadets up to different bases to fly in the Grob Tutor, it's similar to the SF260 but it's all composite, not as powerful though. It will pull +4G easily in loops etc. Also the ATC have gliding schools where they fly in the Grob Viking. Usually at the end of the day they 'find' places for the staff members to go up! I thought I'd seen the end of doing Cubans and half Cubans, stall turns, etc. when I left the 'Don. It beats any fairground ride. Even beats the "Rock 'n' Rollercoaster" at Disneyland! Has Jaffa been in touch with you yet?

Hey Fil, 69's my favourite number!! Yeah, those bumpy journeys were something else weren't they? I remember the Dublin Bus drivers, especially the last bus of the evening, they all thought they were Formula 1 drivers! Even worse than the Clondalkin road back in the 70s was the quays! I remember one lad spewing out the window and it sprayed all the people waiting for busses further along the road! At the time I was living in Dublin and so was my wife (Billy Mc C.) as we both had girlfriends we'd be relatively sober by the time we got on the last bus, but for some of the country lads who may have been in Mulligans all day, well the last thing they'd need right then is hearing a conversation about eating raw eggs and oysters! Or if they looked like they were bursting for a slash we'd turn the conversation to rivers and Powerscourt waterfall! Ahhh! memories!
