Thanks Tony but not very helpful  :airforce_laugh:
Is it specifically illegal to take photos of an aircraft on approach?
I was thinking of the Kingswood bridge/Outer ring road if that suited the runway in use at the time. Park in Citywest/Kingswood House area and walk a bit.

Thurian, not my intention to be unhelpful only practical. I will of course say I was wrong if you even get to that location. :airforce_lipsrsealed:

Tony is right; if I was you I would put my feet up and check it out on the 6 O’clock news that night. At the end of the day it’s just bog standard 32 Squadron Bae 146, we think? Not worth getting your collar felt just for that!

Yer probably right, I've no interest in the queen's visit so I definitely will not be putting my feet up to watch it on the news! It would have been nice to get a photo of the aircraft though.
I'll see how the land lies on the day, if it looks like it's going to be more hassle than it's worth then I'll give it a miss.
No doubt her flight won't register on flightradar so it really would be a lot of legwork and waiting around just for one photo.

The Sunday Times reporting today, William Hague, the British foreign secretary, will join Enda Kenny and others for state banquet, so there could be the odd 125 in the mix as well?

May well not use the BAe 146/BAe125,but as it`s a state visit you never know.
Last visits to N.Ireland they used a leased Cessna 550 or 560,they seem to keep it low key here and seldom use the Royal Flight.

It should show on flightradar24 as they will have a squawk code.

Yes could be, Low Key to keep the U.K. tax payer happy! As we said at the top of this thread G-RUBE has been used of late. Back in the day, it would have been that wonderful work of art the ten Squadron ‘Ascot’ VC-10 or the ‘kitty’ H.S 748 and then we have Obama next! No end to the fun.
