Irish Air Corp SE 5a

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had information on SE 5a's in Irish Air Corp service? What was the color scheme? Thank you, Mike Boucher  :)

hi mike ya there are no photos of the aircraft but a written suggestion from the irish aircorps says the fusellage was red....wings silver.....and r.a.f roundels overprinted in green/white/orange hope this he;ps you out..

Sorry but only had camera phone with me today when I took these. I'll try with a real camera tomorrow. Hope they help.

Many years ago I visited the NCO's Mess at Baldonnel. There was a framed drawing of the SE5A there. The fuselage was red not maroon, the rudder stripes had orange to the fin and green to the rudder end, this often occured on the early types. The serial 11was shown  displayed as roman numerals and was central on the fuselage.When the Mess was redecorated the picture disappeared.I believe that it had been there for a long time and was based on the memory of older Air Corps personnel. There was only one purchased.  HTH

I know its a pic of a RFC SE 5A but the colouring cant be that far off other than the red white and blue. Substitute them for green white orange?
