30th Oct 2011 - 3 helicopters over Dublin city

Just wondering if anyone on here knows the reason for 3 helo's over the city today, about the early to mid afternoon? From my perspective (north side), it appeared they where over the city centre to south city area. One hovering and two orbiting. The hovering aricraft appeared to be east and south of the other two, possibly higher too. I couldn't make out types, but they appeared medium sized.

Anyone got more insight?

hi shamrock if it was the aircorps its sounds like a photo shoot if one was hovering and 2 were circling around but i could be wrong hopefully someone got some pictures of them ......

They were civilian helos and later landed at Weston.  They were using "Arena" callsigns and may have been undertaking filming.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info. As I type (12:27 pm on 31st), two helos are hovering over the city in roughly the same location as I saw them yesterday. Perhaps something to do with the Dublin City marathon.

They're now both transiting west in a loose formation ... and I think I've just spooted the third aircraft in the distance

Saw two landing in weston with UK regs and a third overhead earlier tday.
