There's been little or no further coverage in the media of the incident involving 270 and her crew since it happened.

I'm just curious as to how those involved are recovering and if there is any news of the fate of the airframe.

From what I've heard 270 is written off, damaged beyond economic repair.

Has anyone seen or do they have any pictures of 270 taken since she went in for repairs they can share?

How extensive is/was the damage under the skin?

I've not seen any pictures but 270 is back at the Eurocopter factory for repairs, I think they are going to repair what they can, rebuild the rest and refit the original engines, avionics, etc, as they were not damaged in the crash.

I know this is slightly off topic, but was wondering are both GASU EC135s in use?
Had heard that one may have been stood down..

Any word on the status of 270? Has is been assessed/scheduled for repair/written off/stuck in the corner under a tarp until someone can break open a piggy bank?

If it is to be repaired is there an ETA on its return to service?

I really don't think 270 will see service again. Airframe will be scrapped and everything else will be used on 271.
Now that the 139 is doing the medevac service the 135 is only used for training and not much of that going on.
If they need another machine to train on that can take 195 out of the apprentice hangar and fire her up.

Regarding the GASU; I saw the 2 machines airborne together two weeks ago. Never seen both in the air at once before. Although I do not know if one has been stood down since then.

The 2 GASU machines were taking air to air pictures over Bray 2 weeks ago that's why they were both in the air at the same time. Regarding 270 I agree with Elmo, the 135 is only really used for training so I can't see the government paying the money to put it back service. :sleepy:

270 returned home to Baldonnel today after repairs in Germany.
