Cessna replacement.....
« on: March 28, 2004, 11:10:21 pm »
Based on something F. Malloy said:
The Cessna replacement, does it have to be a fixed wing, is there anything in it's required functions that prevents it's replacement by more helicopters?
Perhaps it would make economic sense to replace the Cessnas with [say] 3-4 more of whatever light helicopter 'they' are thinking about.

This has already been posted on IMO.

maybe rite now it sounds like a good idea but in 20years when they're replacing the luh's the number bought will be cut again.besides u need a fixed wing aircraft for support they are used for target towing also which could not be done properly by a chopper. :)what makes economic sense doesnt always make sense which is y the s-92's were cancelled and why we will be using turboprops to defend ourselves because it makes economic sense instead of buying jets!my friends the man with the chequebook will always get the last laugh '<img'>

one wonders how long target-towing will remain a manned op in these H&S days.
