Hi all,
       I cant seem to find the earlier post were someone asked what the colour of the new lear 45 will be so i'll continue here!
They are just putting the finishing touches to it now in the U.S and its gonna be white with a green stripe running from nose to tail.There will also be an orange stripe apparently wrapping around the green one? It will have the Aircorps roundels on the engine naccelles and the gold harp on the fuselage just forward of the door!
The lads have just returned from the tech course in the U.S so were all ready to go just about , just have to wait for delivery.

good point why buy a learjet when we already have a GIV which is bigger faster and has better range. real good goverment thinking there ha!!!!

Don't suppose it will have 'IRISH AIR CORPS AER CHOR Na hEIREANN' on each side ?

Thanks for the info. - Is the serial number known yet?  258 would seem to be the next one available, or has a block of numbers already been assigned to the PC-9s?

Interesting though, was it not, that on September 24 when the deal was formalised with Bombardier.

Neither the Bombardier, nor the Department of Defence press releases once mentioned the words 'Irish Air Corps'.

The Govt's one was headlined "...........for the Ministerial Air Transport Service".  And spoke only in reference to MATS throughout.  As if it was some sort of spearate thing, like CIE, god help us.

Bombardier spoke only about the Irish Government buying their jet.

A worrying pointer to the future of the Corps? '[<img'>

Also the fact that it won't carry 'Irish Air Corps' on each side - unlike the "MATS" King Air it's replacing    '<img'>

Hi Guys,

Going by the new Air Corps book, the new Learjet will be given reg "258" and will have "IRISH AIR CORPS - AER CHOR Na hEIREANN" on the fuselage.

And for those of you who don't yet know what a Learjet 45 looks like here's a picture:

At least the aircraft will be of some benefit to the Corps - by having it's name on show around the world  '[<img'>
