they were going to buy the Boeing BBJ Airbus ACJ or the GulfstreamV to replace the GulfstreamIV but this was cancelled and the Lear bought to relieve the workload which the Gulfstream was to be used for.i can see the govt selling both jets and leasing one the top three aircraft mentioned on this post!and i doubt that the lear would be suitable as an AWACS Stinger because its to small could not loiter or stay on station for 2long(which is required for an AWACS)and you should see the size of the radar mounts on the new generation of AWACS aircraft and secondly AWACS forms part of a network for example fighters,air2air refuellers,AWACS,ground control stations also with powerful military radar systems.Ireland has none of these unfortunatly! how about selling the GIV and the lear, send berti with air lingus and but some more helo's so we really can be airmobile.

That would involve common sense, something the Irish goverment clearly lacks.
