No.1 hadn't actually got a flight suit patch, had they ?

matt_k,
which Swallows badge - the first or second ?

For anybody not aware of it, there is an excellent Irish site dedicated to AC (Army and Naval Service) badges -

I prefer 302 Sqn or the old Maritime sqn patch.

Some of the later "Wings Course" patches are works of art. Very "American" looking. But the LSS patch is my favourite!

P.Doff,
The old LSS patch ?

Alpha,
The current (Marchetti) QFI patch ?

I prefer AC patches that have the AC roundel, or some other Irish reference.
Many of the 'Wings' patches have no Irish reference whatsoever and could be mistaken for foreign airforce insignia.

I regard the old LSS patch as the most 'agressive' AC patch to date, most (all!) others are 'tame' in comparison    '<img'>

i like the QFI patch because it really captures the impressions and emotions of the QFI and the student pilot really well. just to be clear i am talking about the round patch with the eagle wearing goggles and a helmet with blood dripping out it beak.
