Hi all
From the old uns, the Spitfires/Seafires for their elegant lines, glorious noise and undoubted flying qualities. From the moderns, "my" old bird, 240.I was NCO i/c for eighteen months (with Stretch).A product of the excellent Beech heritage, 240 (and her sisters, sold far,far too soon!) has served above and beyond the call, showing utter reliability, outstanding utility and still slogs away.I flew in it many times and it was always a pleasure to be in.It has quietly served, under the shadow of the more glamourous jets.It has more hours on it's hide than most other King Airs but still looks good.It will take some replacing....I always thought the Alouettes sounded like an alarm bell having unlawful knowledge with an industrial Hoover. There used to be a ritual in "Heli" whereby beer was put in the gob of an individual attempting to imitate the Alouette's noises...you had to be there!
regards
