I came across this pic of a Cypriot PC-9 (involved in a SAR training mission with a Cypriot Police Bell 412 heli) and I thought it would be interesting to look at what other countries use the PC-9, and what uses they put them to.

Cypriot PC-9

Any other foreign PC-9 pics ?

Hey FF, The Swiss use PC7's and PC9's and are looking to be the launch customer for the PC21.

Other PC9 users are Australia, Thailand, Cyprus, Slovenia, Oman, South Africa, a German Civil company who use them for target towing for the German Armed Forces. Thats off the top of my head. There probably are a few more.

Silver,
If I read your note properly you also asked what uses did other Air Forces have for their PC-9s? Hence the information our colleagues in the Swiss Air Force use them primarily for. Nothing more, nothing less!!

Yeah, I read about that head. I believe the pilot was killed and a person on the ground was badly injured. Trajic.

-----------------------

IIRC, The RAAF use their PC-9's for FAC - and of course for their display team, The Roulettes.
(I saw them in action in Melbourne early last year. Great display team!)

I like the 'sharks mouth' on the Australian PC-9 above !

Any chance a couple of our PC-9's might get such a design ?
(p.s. I reckon I already know the answer to this question!  '<img'>)

I saw an The Roulettes involved in a mid air collision on the news earlier.

No injuries thank god,but 1 aircraft destroyed.

Quote

Roulettes to keep Aust Day appointment
The RAAF has promised to uphold its aerobatic flying commitments on Australia Day, despite yesterday's mid-air collision near Sale in Victoria.

Two aircraft from the Roulettes aerobatics team collided, sending one spiralling out of control.

Flight Lieutenant Arnie Moorscheck was attempting a barrel roll when the collision occurred. He managed to eject moments before his plane crashed into a paddock, while the other pilot was able to regain control of his plane.

An investigation is expected to take several weeks.

The head of the Air Force, Air Marshall Angus Houston says the show will go on.

"We have a number of commitments for the Roulettes over the next few weeks and we will do our utmost to meet those commitments," he said.

"Clearly after what has happened we will have to modify the way we do our displays but we'll do what we can to support those people we've made commitments to."

Jeez, that's a surprise re the Roulettes !
Thankfully nobody got injured.

I'd imagine they will be in much demand for Australia Day - the Aussie's love to celebrate their national day !!  '<img'>
(I was in Sydney for it last year)

I would be happy to see another four - i.e. total = 12.

Why wasn't an option part of the tender (even if it wasn't actually taken up) ?
