I dont think the new mag will have any competition, as going by what is being said on other board's, it seems "Wings Ireland" has crashed an burned.

Yeah it was good, it's a real pity to see it gone

Its a very small remit for a magazine in Ireland, there just isnt that much aviation to cover or that many aviation fanatics to purchase the magazines.
Anyway good luck to them.

WellI haven't seen any of it's issues on sale for a while so I presumed it was.  I'd be delighted if somebody could prove me wrong.

The last issue I saw for sale was a couple of weeks ago in Easons Tallaght. (picture of an airliner on the cover)

I had subscribed to wings ireland and today i got a letter from Taj letting me know that Wings Ireland has officially been shutdown as a printed publication.
Due to the high production costs, it cannot be sustained. He mentioned that last month, it did outsell the nearest rival by ten to one (not sure who the nearest rival would be) but even so that only covered 20% of the production costs.
But it is to move to an online magazine, free of charge, at www.wingsireland.com.
And he returned the balance of my subscription that i had paid, which i think is very decent of him.

I would just like to take the opportunity to thank Taj publically for the work he put in. Its a shame it hasnt worked out for him and his team. In every dealing i had with him, he was very polite and professional. And i would like to wish him every success with wingsireland as an online mag, and any other projects he might undertake in the future.

The first issue is now out as of today. I`ve already picked up a copy and was very impressed by it.

It was an excellent magazine and a great pity that it is no longer available.
