Air Corps History DVD ?

Does anyone know if there is such a DVD available. I thought I remembered a video being available some time ago, maybe I'm wrong. However, if such a DVD exists can someone post the details and how I can get it. Thanks.

Hi Flyboy,

There is/was a CD Rom available called 'Irish Air Corps 1922-1997' (produced in 1996) which includes AC aircraft details, photos and video footage of SF260, Gazelle and Alouette plus Historical photos/info. I got my copy circa 1998 by phoning Commandant Kevin Byrne then (now?) Air Corps PR officer.

There was also a video available entitled 'Air Corps 75' which was footage taken from the 1997 Air Spectacular (also incl c.10 mins footage of the Silver Swallows when the won 'Best display by an overseas team' at RIAT '97 !). Again, I got a copy by phoning Baldonnel.  

I also have resason to believe that there is a video of AC Helicopter Ops - produced to celebrate 30 years of Heli Ops in 1993 - thought I have yet to see one, or have somebody confirm that they actually have a copy '>

Thanks Silver, the CD Rom you refer to is the "video" I thought had been produced. Shame there is not a more up-to-date  issue on DVD. But thanks for the info.

that 1997 video was ok but the music on it and sound were absolute muck the music could not have been more cheesier if the producers tried.

just out of interest i like the pics on the aircorps CD ROM is there any way i can use them as wallpaper for my PC as i/you cant right click to save as. anybody know how to conquer this?

well it probably is illegal, but you can browse the CD (using my computer) looking for image files, and you might find it.

or if the picture is compiled into the application, you wont be able to extract it directly, but you can print screen (key on your keyboard) and paste into a graphics program.
