Been a fairly busy week for visitors in the Don.
So far , 2 RN Merlins, 2 Belgian SF-260's, and 1+1 US Navy C-9's!
They were all on Nav Ex's or crew rests, YEH ROIGHT!!
With the week thats in it I dont think so. There were a fair few sore heads this mornin around one of the C-9's!!

The merlins were great, a rare sight indeed. Always love the C-9 on take off, the noise! May these visits continue..  '<img'>

PDoff, any chance you could list the regs of these visitors?

Two C-9s sharing the ramp at Baldonnel is a very rare event.
I presume the Merlins were hangared for the weekend as I passed by on Saturday and there was no sign of them.

Did anyone get photos they could put up on the site?

The two Belgian SF260D's left yesterday lunch time. They were from the Basic Flying Training School. Note the sharks head on the nose. The School badge is on the fuselage and the squadron badge is on the tail.

Great pics APK. The Belgian Defence Forces magazine (ie An Cosantoir en francais) carried a feature last year on the SF260 fleet and highlighted a reconditioning programme to prolong their service for another few years.

The 2 C-9's werent on the ramp at the same time which is why i said 1+1, 2 merlins indicating a pair etc.
Sorry,should have explained it better.
There was enough hassle fitting the one on the ramp anyhow, I watched the first one depart with a guy watching its wing tip all the way to the Bravo 1.

I am guessing due to its size he did not want to take the off the tip of his wing against the side of a building or worse the Goverment Jet, if its back yet.
Who mentioned Jets

The School badge is on the fuselage and the squadron badge is on the tail.

Actually the badge on the fuselage is the SQN badge (5 SQN). The wolfshead on the tail is the logo of Beauvechain AB. It appears on all our aircraft (SF-260, Fouga and A-jet) that are stationed overhere.
