Well, the more I read over everyone's comments, I see one thing that needs to be done and that is a revamped Irish Defene Forces.  It is sad for everyone here to see the Aircorps get run into the ground.  I still cant see the logic in buying just trainers.  It is a disgrace that Ireland's younger generation goes to an airshow and cant even see its own display team.   The bottom line is I hope some one that is involved in any type of decision making reads this board.  The best day will be when Baldonnel is full of activity, and that recruiting is continous in all braches of the Irish Defence Forces.  Well as always its great to hear all your views but I think its time that someone took the time and push for a revamped Defence Forces.  I know for one thing if I was the Minister Of Defence, things would certainy change, first being I would put a lot of effort in bringing a lot of motivation and fight tooth and nail to buy lots of new equipment.

Well just trying my best to liven thing up from this side of the Atlantic!!!!!!

This is not the way to get through to the minister, the best any of us can do is work out better arguments for the air corps in our dealings with the people we know.
It's a long shot but a unified and realistic vision of the DF by enthusiasts like yourself is the only means we have, if everyperson who any of us talks to hears a compatible and acceptable story then you have the basis for a change in public opinion...only then might we see funding diverted from the Statue/VIP lounge/Dail Gym/being insanely corrupt/incompetent administration budgets into defence.
If you want to see some serious discussion about defence try Irishmilitary.com's "think tank", you can feel free to transpose any of my suggestions here if you want to.
