Been a busy couple of days on the dons small ramp. On Monday we had a Citation XL picking up some VIP, along with two King Airs of "Flight Precision" one of which is over untill today calibrating the dons ATC and Nav equipment (along with our new ILS(not operational for general use yet!), bout time we went all weather). The other came over with a maintenance crew after the calibration a/c went U/S.
Last night a Sweedish C-130 paid a visit until this morning.
I know its nothing to get exited about but we dont get out much out here,LOL!!

I spotted the King Air yesterday doing low level passes, and I thought the "New" colour scheme was quite nice. Also spotted the PC9 hanging about quite a bit..

Sorry Fouga, no pics. I normally have a camera with me but took it home last week in case I went to Abbeyshrule and didnt bother bringing it back in,Doh!!
Wouldnt have got the C-130 though, the mad Ba@~#rd did an almost tactical landing in the dark at the tail end of the worst rain shower I've ever seen out here, nutter!!!
He didnt bother turning finals, just turned over  the threshold and plonked it on to the runway!!

Hi Snapper,
Helis are doing a hell of a lot of troop transport for the army of late, which is now their primary role. They are booked solid in this role for the forseeable future as all army personell are to be up to speed on heli ops. I suppose theyre gearing up for the new helis and of course overseas??
Seen a six ship the other mornin for the first time outside an airshow, comprising of 4 AIII's and 2 Dauphin.

dunno how he could confuse the "RED" arrows with PC9m's? Then again Joe Soap? Or were there indeed 7PC9M's up & running?
