PC-9M flying late tonight ?
« on: August 02, 2005, 10:47:34 pm »
About 7pm tonight I heard a PC-9M fly over my house - at cruising speed - which I thought was a little unusual (never previously heard/seen one about after c.5pm).

Any ideas folks ?
Returning from a cross-country training sortie perhaps ?

Night flying is part of the course, I have often seen the Marchetties flying in the very late hours, last time I seen 'em was about 2 years ago at around 2000 hours on a moonless night.
The PC-9's should be vastly more suitable for this type of work.
Ireland, no jets, no future!

In fact over the years, at this time of year, I have observed Air Corps night flying training so nothing unusual.

The aircraft was flying a simulated attack profile on an Army unit down in the Curragh I believe.
