According to defense-aerospace.com today the Air Corps received it's first EC-135 P2 in September.

It may well indeed be one of them. The German reg looks temperary and a reliable source has told me the colour of the heli in the photo looks very similar to the colour scheme approved by the aer corp.

At least the people in charge of the tender got it right by specifying SAR winch capability, EMS fit, IFR option, etc ......rather than it just being a training/transport heli.

All Eurocopter Airframes have a German registration prior to delivery to the customer, as the aircraft needs a registration for flight testing.

If this is indeed the C/S, it is sweet, Nothing against the Grey and daglo orange, however if the Air Corp is to be brought closer to the Army then the cammo CS is perfect.

Hi all
I hope they haven't repeated history(Dauphin) and crammed them full of excess options, so that they can't take full fuel/full load. I hope that they had an experienced engineering officer (NCOs are not considered to be intelligent enough to offer an experienced opinion on what actually might be useful) keeping an eye on the selection committee.If you let them ,they'll "gold-plate" the aircraft to death.If you add too much, then you end up choopping away at the useful load, which,in the end, is the whole point of a helicopter.

I seen from the spec's of the "Air Ambulance" kit that it takes 20 minutes to fit, I take it then that these will only be used for Inter Hospital transfers and not actual EMS, as they say the first hour after an accident is the most important, and I dont see the 135's sitting around with the ambulance kit always installed.

As far as I know that is the actual helicopter for the Air Corps with a temporary German civil test reg applied, the picture was released by Eurocopter themselves as the first helicopter.

Hopefully better pictures will surface in the near future.

I mentioned grey/red colour scheme for the EC-135s as i thought it was going to be more civilian type operations: Training, MATS, hospital transfer, mountain rescue, etc.
Whereas the AB139s would be more for the army co-op, so overall green for them.
But the AC know best as to what they want to do with them, so...

Two light utility helicopters, which are being acquired from Eurocopter SAS at a cost of €12.8 million, inclusive of VAT, are due to be delivered later this year.

The first of the two helicopters was accepted by the Department last week, but is being retained in Germany for pilot training purposes. The second of the helicopters is scheduled for acceptance at the end of October.
