Large Picture Comments: Though painted in Spantax colours and marked as EC-ASJ, this was a Moroccan Air Force aircraft and never served with Spantax. The real EC-ASJ does still fly though and is based at Madrid-Cuatro Vientos, also in Spantax livery.

Large Picture Comments: Though painted as OH-VKN, this aircraft didn't actually serve with Kar-Air. However it did fly for many years in Scandinavia, having been delivered to SAS as SE-BSY in February 1958. After being sold in the mid-1970s it went on to fly in Botswana and South Africa before being acquired by Cochise Airlines in 1979. After being parked at Malaga for some years, it became a museum exhibit and is in very good condition.

Large Picture Comments: Preserved in the Museo de Aeropuertos y Transporte Aereo, Malaga, with the local brewery prominent in the background. This aircraft was delivered to the USAAF in August 1945, just after the war ended, and saw extensive service at various Asian (Kadena, Haneda, Itami, Ashiya, Osan) and US (Hickam, Norton, Hamilton, Palm Beach) bases until it was retired to Davis-Monthan AFB in 1960. Charlotte Aircraft acquired it as N86442 and in 1970 it was sold to the Spanish AF as T.3-50. In 1978 it was bought by civilian operator Aerotransporte de Espaņa as EC-CPO. It was withdrawn from use at Alicante in 1980 and eventually ended up dumped at Zaragoza from 1992 to 2002. It has been restored for display to represent the first Iberia DC-3 to land at Malaga.

Large Picture Comments: Restored at Duxford to these striking 1950s training colours. Originally delivered to the RAF in November 1953, this particular Vampire was based at Oakington, near Cambridge, between November 1959 and March 1962, when it served with No.5 Flying Training School. It was transferred to No.8 FTS at Swinderby and then acquired by Hawker Siddeley in 1968 for possible resale. It joined the Imperial War Museum collection in 1973.

Large Picture Comments: So many cut backs now in Greece it seems they can't afford to cut back the grass around this immaculately preserved C-47 at the CAA compound at the old closed airport. This Dak can be found at the coast road just past Glyfada just where the old airport perimeter starts.
